Trump The Fascist Is Coming! - Poppycock, It Just Looks That Way To The Illusionist Left

'Fascist', howled the American Left every time Donald Trump makes an appearance.  This Nazi, this Hitler, this tyrant who intended to overthrow the American government, is about to put in place an authoritarian regime no less brutal that those of the Third Reich, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and the Shahs is now poised for power and the very future of democracy is at stake. A Trump Presidency will mean draconian laws, jackbooted storm troopers, the Gestapo, and a secret police far more savage than Sevak, Stasi, the KGB, and the Tonton Macoute combined.

Every cabinet appointment Trump makes, every promised executive order, every insinuation, every proposed executive order is a sign of the coming Apocalypse, Signs of the Seven Seals, the horrible devastation and destruction of Armageddon.

Trump will dismiss checks and balances, arrogate supreme power to the executive branch, co-opt the independence of the army, and under presidential threat, deploy them to enforce the new order.  His secret police will be an invasive, irreconcilable force of intimidation, and hundreds of thousands of Americans will be sent to Dakota gulags.  Extrajudicial process will be the rule as the new social order is established, spread, and enforced.

Nonsense, of course.  Nobody but old Jews, Congressional ghetto cabals, and hopelessly credulous Washingtonians give it any thought.  The 'Insurrection' of January 6th was no such thing, only a raucous frat-boy wild night on the town, all Mardi Gras pasties, Viking helmets, crayoned warpaint, Jack Black and Coke, and no idea whatsoever what anyone was doing.

The promise to uproot the barnacled, waterlogged, rotting timbers of the bureaucracy and get rid of half the eye-shaded, ticket punching hangers-on in cubicles and airless, windowless offices up and down Independence Avenue is not the work of a maniacal tyrant out to destroy democracy, but someone who is intent on returning government to the principles of the Constitution and the vision of Jefferson and Hamilton, men who never in their dreams could imagine the size, scope, and irrelevance of today's government.

Trump is not intent on reconfiguring the government to suit his tyrannical notions.  On the contrary, he is only interested in slashing and burning, uprooting and tossing aside, blasting and demolishing the institutions of governmentalism, clearing the decks for running, ridding the capital of the old files and the flotsam and jetsam accumulated after decades of bureaucratic rule.

'What about George Floyd', progressives shout as Trump vows not only to re-fund but big-fund the police to return city streets to order - to sweep away Fentanyl dopers, the trash and detritus of the slums, the lawlessness and civil disorder of the projects, the county-within-a-country abysmally rancid and random inner city.  If most of those searched, investigated, arrested, tried, and imprisoned are black, so be it.  The law of demographics and statistical relevance will replace political assumptions.

If the police act forcefully, with determination and purpose, also so be it.  Crime is a nasty business, and law enforcement will match it choke-hold for choke-hold.  The policies of the El Salvadoran and Filipino governments, designed to rid their countries of violent crime, drugs, arms, and instability have met chaos with discipline.  These are not examples of Soviet pogroms and Siberian gulags, arrests for political reasons, ridding the streets not of criminals but opponents.  They are just the opposite.  Bold, incontestable statements of democratic principles,  It is right of every citizen, their leaders said, to live in peace.

'What about gays and transgenders?', cried the Left, imagining lines of gay boys and Bernal Heights tough girls rounded up and bussed to Pine Ridge after sweeps of the Castro, South Beach, and Dupont Circle.  They, the most vulnerable and harassed, will be easy pickin's for the Trump harvesters.  Who will defend them?

Balderdash. Trump and his men could care less what other men do with each other behind closed doors, or who wears what frilly dress in public?  But clipping and restyling young boys and girls according to sexual preference? The most heinous, unconscionable intervention in God's ordered universe ever devised. The Left's image of a 24/7 gay Mardi Gras in Chillicothe or Grover's Corners, all pasties and Folsom Street Fair leather and chains is a clown show, a ridiculous Baroque vision of the very end of selfish permissiveness.

The Trump policy scenario - a truly radical reassessment and reformulation of government, and one which is populist at heart, sympathetic to ambition and wealth creation, and congenial to independent thought and enterprise - has indeed left progressives shaking in their boots.  'Fascist', they howl when the see the President-elect's intention to cut government by half, free the private sector from impeding, restrictive legislation, let market forces rule energy demand, use, and environmental interests.  Eliminate entitlements, affirmative action, and faux-compassionate, socially and economically stymieing, place-holding giveaways.  Brook no funny business from real autocrats and dictators.

So, what's a mother to do?  Still licking their wounds, crying wolf, and hopelessly lost and despondent, the Left has nothing else but 'Fascist' to rely on. After ten years of smearing, baseless allegations, Salem witch trials, and persistent media hysteria, not only is Donald Trump still standing, he is about to become the next President of the United States.  How did this happen? the Left wonders, shaking its collective head in total disbelief.  The man is absolutely, undeniably, unmistakably evil, so his re-election must mean that those who put him in office must be equally so.  The country is far worse off than we thought.  Our vision is not the problem - it is theirs.

Of course 'they, them, theirs' - the people simply had had quite enough of the hectoring, frivolous assumptions, and righteous arrogation of moral right.  They were not 'garbage' or 'deplorables', but the salt of the earth who would be heard.  Trump was their man for his outspoken championing of their causes and their rights; and besides, his yachts, arm candy, jewels, and fabulous resorts were exactly what they wanted.  America is not a sophisticated, Robert Frost-Pablo Casals kind of place.  It is a Hollywood, Las Vegas showy, glitzy, middle-brow affair, and Donald Trump got it, understood it, and boasted it.

Enough said.  'Fascist'? A facile, simplistic, ignorant accusation, and a full-throated, ignorant howl.  The Democratic Party is already talking of retooling, toning down, moving to the center; but it will take a lot of fancy footwork to reset the balance.  They have been whupped and whupped badly, and no rejiggering will do any good whatsoever.
